FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Los Angeles, CA (August 24, 2017) – Eisner Health announced today that its Board of Directors has unanimously chosen Warren J. Brodine as the organization’s next President and Chief Executive Officer. Brodine, who currently serves as President of W. J. Brodine & Co., a consultancy that supports community health centers, will succeed Chona de Leon, the organization’s current Interim CEO, on October 16, 2017.
“After a comprehensive search process, the board is pleased to have found the best individual to assume leadership of this important community health center organization,” said Stan Berkman, Chairman of the Eisner Health Center Board of Directors and Managing Member at Kerwick Capital Funding, LLC. “Warren has a track record of strong leadership in the community clinic field. This combined with his deep industry knowledge makes Warren uniquely qualified to lead Eisner Health successfully into the future.”
“I’m honored, and I’m grateful to the board for the opportunity to lead this exceptional organization, and excited to work alongside the dedicated and talented professionals at Eisner Health to make a real difference in the lives of the people we serve,” said Brodine. “We provide quality and compassionate care to our patients every day, and our work impacts families and communities throughout Los Angeles County. This is a terrific opportunity for any leader.”
Brodine, 48, is a native of Chicago, Illinois, and a graduate of Indiana University, Bloomington, and has also completed coursework at Université Laval, Québec, Canada. Since 1996 Brodine has worked in the primary healthcare field, at a state Primary Care Association as policy lead, in health centers in the capacities of Chief Operating Officer, Head of Innovation, and Chief Executive Officer, as well as in a national consulting practice. He spent five years as Chief Executive Officer of Chicago Family Health Center, a Federally Qualified Health Center on the south side of Chicago. In 2014, he launched his own firm to assist health centers nationwide.
He serves on the board of the National Family Planning and Reproductive Health Association, and on the board and executive committee of Advocate-Illinois Masonic Hospital in Chicago.
He and Mark Rhein, his husband, are looking forward to relocating to Los Angeles with Barney, their 2-year-old Labrador retriever.
Chona de Leon, who will leave the Interim CEO post, returning to her former post of Senior Vice President and Chief Operating Officer on October 15, expressed confidence in the board’s choice. “Warren has been a remarkable leader in the community clinic field over the years,” said de Leon. “I’m very happy with the board’s decision, and I’m confident Warren will ensure that Eisner Health continues to lead the way in healthcare’s ongoing evolution.”
